Each year the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) of Virginia awards scholarships to deserving students.

Each scholarship is awarded to a direct dependent of a FOP member.  Recipient must either be a graduating high school senior or presently in an accredited college or university.  All Scholarship checks will be made payable to the Recipient and to the College or University.

FOP VA Scholarship Requirements

  • Student must be a direct dependent of a FOP member in good standing.  A direct dependent is defined as living in the same household and being financially dependent on the member.  For example, a grandchild is acceptable, provided the member is the sole source of support for the grandchild.
  • Student must be a graduating high school senior who is preparing to attend or who is currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • No Student can receive an FOP Scholarship for two successive years.
  • The member’s lodge must be a part of the FOP of Virginia and in good standing with both the State and Grand Lodge.
  • Application must be legible and filled out completely.
  • A letter from the member's FOP local lodge President regarding the member's standing in the lodge for at least one year must be attached to the completed application.  Letter must be on local lodge stationary and must state the member’s activities in the lodge, any offices held, committee assignments, etc.
  • Application must be submitted along with a photocopy of the current Membership Card for the qualifying FOP Member.
  • Application must be received at the FOP State Lodge office no later than the close of business, by the deadline date.  Any application received after the cutoff time on the deadline date will not be considered.  The State Lodge office is located at 5821 Iron Bridge Road, Richmond, Virginia 23234.
